Steven C. Schoonover, President  Dr. Stephen C. Schoonover is the President of Schoonover Associates, Inc. and Chairman of its technology group, Human Asset Technologies, LLC. These organizations specialize in leadership and executive development, organizational effectiveness, change initiatives, the design and implementation of competency-based HR systems and online assessment, development and performance management services. Dr. Schoonover is a board-certified psychiatrist and a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School. He has extensive consulting experience with designing and installing performance development systems with a range of Fortune 100 companies over the past 20 years.

He recently completed Competency-Based HR Applications: Results of a Comprehensive Study in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management and Arthur Andersen and another study for the Society for Human Resource Management on human resource competencies "Human Resource Competencies for the Year 2000: The Wake Up Call" published by SHRM and it's companion piece Human Resource Competencies for the Year 2000: A professional's Toolkit for Performance Development.

In addition, he has presented to SHRM and the Conference Board on the future of Human Resources. He recently collaborated with Nicholas Weiler in Your Soul At Work: Five Steps to a More Fulfilling Career and Life published in 2001 by the Paulist Press.


Helen Schoonover, Vice President  Helen Schoonover, Vice President with Schoonover Associates, Inc., provides management-consulting services to organizations experiencing rapid growth and change as a result of competition, technology or new product development. She focuses on developing organizational structures, processes, and applications to improve efficiency, performance, commitment, and customer service.

Most recently, Ms. Schoonover worked with Ortho Biotech, Inc. a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson to develop competency models, competency-based job descriptions, learning and development toolkits and an approach to learning and development. In addition, Ms. Schoonover has provided consulting services related to the development and installation of competency-based systems and applications to Oracle Corporation, Lockheed Martin, and Sun Microsystems. She holds a M.B.A. from Simmons College Graduate School of Management.
